The Lily Pad is perfectly placed and close to all the main routes for exploring the West Penwith and further afield in Cornwall. St Ives just to the north is an artists’ mecca with The Tate, Barbara Hepworth Museum and Leach Pottery, also a delightful number of galleries, shops and restaurants. Surfers flock to Porthmeor Beach and the white-gold sands of Porthminster and Carbis Bay invite relaxation.
Sennen Cove close to Land’s End lies to the west. Nearby Penzance is the largest town for shops and has a leisure centre and an outdoor seafront 1930’s Lido. St. Michael’s Mount and Marazion can be walked or cycled to along the South-West Coastpath in one direction while the fishing villages of Newlyn and Mousehole are in the other.
Various attractions include Geevor, Levant and Poldark tin mines, Paradise Park wildlife centre with indoor jungle-gym. Flambards theme park, Country Skittles and Go-karting. Cornwall also has renowned beautiful gardens to enjoy. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Eden Project, Glendurgan, Trebah and Tremenheere sculpture garden to name but a few. The West Penwith area has some outstanding pubs and restaurants serving locally sourced fresh produce and fish.
The Living Area
Stepping into this welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner you immediately gain a sense of light, space and comfort which features throughout the property. In the lounge area cosy up on the two 3-seater sofa’s and enjoy your favourite film on the 50″ Smart TV. From here there is access to all three bedrooms. West facing patio doors access the garden.
The Kitchen
The contemporary kitchen is well-equipped with electric oven and ceramic hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, making this a perfect place for cooking as little or as much as you like.
The Master Bedroom with Ensuite
The master suite has a king-size hypnos bed with open hanging space and shelving. The window faces north and looks out onto the planted field bank. A contemporary en-suite shower room adjoins bedroom one with a shower, basin and toilet.
Bedroom 2
This large room with a vaulted ceiling and a south facing window also has a king-size hypnos bed. With plenty of hanging space and open shelving for clothes.
The Twin Bedroom
The twin room is a light and airy room also with plenty of clothing space. It’s window faces west taking in the evening sun and views out over the garden.
Bathroom
Completing the accommodation is the family bathroom with a bath, separate shower, basin and toilet. Solar thermal panels on the roof heat the water and an air source heat pump powers the underfloor heating throughout the property.
The Garden
Outside is a completely enclosed and private garden with an alfresco dining area, perfect for relaxing and listening to the not so distant wildlife. Sunsets often light up it’s west facing walls. There is a shared driveway for parking up to three cars per property. A water station and hanging pole is in the driveway for washing off sandy clothes, wet-suits and muddy paws!
Dog Friendly
We welcome up to 2 well-behaved and house-trained dogs (sorry, no puppies) to stay with a bowl of water and a biscuit or two! We charge £20 per dog, per week. Just 400m away from the properties is a mile-long stretch of dog-friendly beach (all year round) with acres of sand to run on when the tide is fully out! Outside there is a tap and hose where muddy/sandy paws can be washed off after an exciting day exploring. A towel is provided for a good dry off and rub down!
The garden is fenced with a lawn area, and a mess bin is provided for you to clear up into. We respectfully ask that all dogs are kept off the furniture and beds during their stay, and that they are never left unattended in the properties at any time. A list of dog-friendly beaches, pubs, vets etc. is available. Also suggestions for walks and days out with your best friend(s). Doggie day care businesses, dog sitters and kennels are available locally for the days/evenings when you might want to explore alone.
